The parent handbook, short version.
Everything current and prospective families ask most — pack lists, daily reports, closures, and how we partner with you.
Your daily window in
Every family gets daily reports through our parent app: photos, meals, naps, diapers or potty wins, and a note about your child's day — the specific kind, like "built a zoo for the worms she found," not "had a great day!" Teachers also send a longer weekly recap of what the room is exploring and why.
What to pack (and label!)
- Two full changes of clothes that can get muddy — they will
- Outdoor gear for the season: sun hat and sunscreen, or snow gear and boots
- Nap lovey if your child has one; we launder crib sheets and blankets weekly
- Infants: bottles, and breastmilk or formula for the day (we handle warming and safe storage)
- Please label everything. We run a legendary lost-and-found anyway.
Hours, closures & snow days
We're open Monday–Friday, 7:00am–6:00pm, year-round. We close for major holidays, two teacher in-service days a year (announced in August), and the week between Christmas and New Year's. Snow days follow Denver Public Schools closures — if DPS closes, we close, and we'll text you by 5:30am.
Conferences & communication
Formal conferences run twice a year with your child's developmental portfolio, but you never need an appointment to talk. Catch a lead teacher at pickup, message through the app, or call the front office — if a question keeps you up at night, it's worth a call at 7:01am.
Workshops & community
Free evening parent workshops run monthly — sleep, tantrums, big feelings, kindergarten choice — led by our directors and guest specialists. Add the fall harvest dinner, spring art show, and the Pre-K graduation that will absolutely make you cry, and you have our whole social calendar.
